In 1996 the Open University (OU.) commenced publication of a series of CD ROMs that contained the end of course project reports prepared by Open University Students as part of the DA301 honours level course Studying family & community history. The data contained on the students DA301 Final Project Reports CD ROM still remain a unique resource, the fruit of many instances of individual research. In 2011, ten years after the publication of the final CD ROM, the remaining stock of DA301 Project Reports CD ROMS previously sold by the OU are now available from the Family & Community Historical Research Society (FACHRS),  Members of FACHRS are now able to purchase these CD ROMS that are an amazing resource of micro research projects from the Society. These CD ROMS that contain facsimile copies of the final project reports of former DA301 students have been made available by the Open University so that existing and future members of the Society may be able to continue to purchase the data contained on the CD ROMs.
