To promote and communicate research in family & community history within a scholarly framework, with particular emphasis on the contribution of locally based and micro studies to the understanding of the wider picture (and vice versa). The Family and Community Historical Research Society (Society), will work toward attaining these aims by such means as providing a framework for discussion and support for the Society's members, publishing a journal & newsletter for the Society's members, promoting links between institutional and independent researchers, and encouraging activities and interaction at both a national and a regional level.

No formal qualification is required. Members of FACHRS have access to the Members Community that offers additional benefits for members engaged in practical research. Apply to join.
